Facebook Feed Jumping Up and Down

Dear all,
For a month or two now I have been experiencing strange things when I use FB: I start typing a comment, then hit Backspace to erase a typo, and the entire page jumps up, hiding the comment field. The same happens when I select the typo and try to write over it.
The Vivaldi version is the latest: 5.1.2567.49 (Stable channel) (64-bit),
Revision aac225a3f1289e4f5f187026098523df71fd79ae, but the same was happening on the previous version, too. This behaviour is very annoying. Any ideas?
TIA,
Alex
I've been having the exact same issue for a while. It started after an update. No idea when or which update. At first when I clicked in Fb text entry boxes to reply to comments the screen would immediately jump down a few lines. At other times clicking in the text entry box wouldn't trigger it, but as soon as I start typing the first letter it would jump down a few lines. Over time it's gotten worse... now it jumps down a page or more and I have to scroll up to find the box I was typing in. It's making Facebook unusable and along with other issues in Vivaldi that only started recently I'm now thinking to ditch it and go back to Chrome which is faster and reliable BUT lacks all the wonderful features of Vivaldi that I really appreciate
I'm hoping the fix suggestion here mentioned above fixes this new issue.....
//MODEDIT: Topic forked from a thread with a different issue
//MODEDIT2: The issue seem to happen on different browsers - thread moved to general support

@trueash Hello, and Welcome to the Vivaldi Community
Sounds like the default "History Back" setting of Backspace is interfering with the site. Go to Settings > Keyboard and find it (or use the search field), then delete it. Or map to something else if you prefer.
I think Vivaldi is the only browser that still uses Backspace for history navigation, and FB probably do not consider it.
I don't have a Facebook account so can't really verify this myself.
Do you have a suggestion for when I click in a Fb 'reply' text entry box and the page jumps up as soon as I type the first letter of my reply by any chance? I don't have to press BACKSPACE for it to happen to me.
@inadream Sorry, no idea - I don't have FB so I can't test what might cause it. For the first post here I thought that might be cause, but if it's not backspace I really don't know.
One suggestion is maybe test in other browsers, like Chrome, Opera, Firefox, Brave or Chromium itself to see if you see a similar behaviour or if it's only in Vivaldi. If it happens in other browsers, I'd suggest you contact FB support and ask what it is.
I also suggest you try in a clean profile or a guest window if it happens there as well, to exclude any possible settings or extensions.

@pathduck unfortunately the page jumping behaviour is exclusive to Vivaldi and isn't happening in Chrome or Firefox
@inadream It looks like it's exclusive to your computer only, as I'm not observing anything like that here. Page is not jumping whatsoever when posting comments on Facebook. Tested in Vivaldi Stable 5.1.2567.49 & Snapshot 5.2.2581.4 (both 64-bit on Windows 10 ver. 21H2, x64, build ver. 19044.1526).
Please try using a clean profile and see if it's still acting like that there. For more information, please refer to the Troubleshooting issues guide.
Posting here because I'm at a loss - I can't find any other reports of this behavior - except this one. I am seeing this exact behavior on two computers, both using Chrome.
Obviously - not a Vivaldi bug/issue report - but I thought I would throw in some additional data points in hopes that someone can figure out what this is as it is driving me nuts

What "additional data points"? You say nothing about your OS, your Vivaldi version, what extensions are installed or what you've tried to troubleshoot it
Please try the troubleshooting steps:
https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/troubleshoot/troubleshooting-issues/
@pathduck I was pretty clear - I'm reporting that the problem is NOT just confined to Vivaldi - the problem occurs in Chrome.
Data points.
@spiffi Sorry - I was a bit too quick there, I realise that now. I just saw another "me too!" post, guess I should learn to read better
By the way, welcome to the Vivaldi Community
@spiffi The same thing keeps happening to me whether I use Chrome or Edge ... It's beyond annoying... I can't find any other forum that addresses this issue ... It's been going on for well over a month ... I've just been avoiding comments unless it's really important
@spiffi also having the issue in Chrome and only on FB reply...
Latest Chrome/ W10 latest and it only happens inside FB reply's...
have gone through and cycled all keyboard short cuts on then off , no shortcuts are active..
The issue also occurs when backspace key is hit, scrolls down to next post..
@pafflick It is not exclusive to my computer as I've since seen a few others saying they've had it happen to them too - but I discovered that the issue is caused by changing Vivaldi's default page zoom setting. On a 5K screen I have my default Vivaldi page zoom set to 130%. I found that setting Vivaldi default zoom level from 130% to a lower number stops the page from jumping down. Very odd behaviour!!
I changed it from 130% to 120% and the issue stopped:
@randalljames I found the solution for me was regarding my default page zoom setting. Changing from 130% zoom to 120% stopped the page jumping down when I try to type in text boxes on Facebook... try changing your page zoom and see if that helps you too!

@marygin What are your page zoom settings? I am on a 5K screen and often increase my page zoom to make small text easier to read (CTRL and + to zoom in, CRTL and - to zoom out). What is your OS zoom setting on? If you increase your OS display zoom !

In Vivaldi you could also check your default page zoom level and see if changing it to a lower or higher setting helps:
This post is deleted!
@spiffi What are your zoom settings in your OS and in Vivaldi? I fixed this issue by making sure my OS was set to 100% here:
And then changing my default Vivaldi page zoom setting from 130% down to 120% here:
That stopped the issue for me.
@inadream I have the same problem, and my Windows Display zoom is set to 100% and it also happens when the Vivaldi zoom is set to 100%. In my case it does not seem to depend on the zoom settings.
i have the exact same problem and it is in all browsers, i was in facebook jail twice almost back to back for 30 days , i believe it is FB messing with the account,
March 2022 update. This problem does indeed occur on other browsers, and it is really annoying. I use Vivaldi often but I use Brave for Facebook. Every time I would hit the backspace key to make a correction in a FB comment, the box would jump up out of sight! I had to scroll up a page to continue typing. Very very annoying. The solution was to set the FB page to 75% zoom. Then the problem disappeared. If an internet search for "Facebook page jumping" brings you here, I hope the solution is just that easy for you, too. BTW a quick way to change the zoom level on a web page is hold down control key and use your mouse button.

For me this solution stopped the issue... I changed the Scale & Layout from 130% to 100%.
However, I'm on a 4K monitor and it made everything else way too small! I went back and changed it to 120% and it fixed the problem. But still everything is a little too small.
And for me, this only happens in Vivaldi - not in any other browser.
VIVALDI needs to fix this. We should not have to change our display settings to make Facebook work.
